What a photo does settle is geometry — marker spacing, date-window alignment, bezel-to-dial centring, clasp engraving depth — and geometry is where budget builds usually give themselves away first.

So order the checks accordingly. Anything visual, settle before you pay by reading the listing gallery. Anything mechanical — running seconds, rotor noise, power reserve — ask the warehouse for a ten-second video after the piece arrives, and be ready to hear that a movement claim was optimistic.

The four frames worth requesting for any reference

One: the dial at a low angle in daylight, because rehaut printing and applied-marker edges flatten out in straight-on shots. Two: the caseback engraving in macro — soft, shallow stamping is the cheapest corner to cut. Three: the clasp open, showing the stamping inside. Four: the watch beside a ruler, lug to lug — a case that measures 2 mm off the reference cannot be fixed by any strap.

These four take a warehouse worker a minute. Naming them exactly beats writing “more QC please” — the difference between a useful photo set and a decorative one is the request.
